#3 of my Kick Ass Women series. Cleopatra, the last pharaoh of Egypt, was an alluring figure. Her short life was full of political and sexual intrigue for sure, although many of the details have been obscured through centuries of storytelling. Her life may have ended in tragedy, but Cleopatra lived by her own rules which was a rare thing for a woman of her time. Happy Sunday everyone! I know that you all have come to expect some fairly light hearted pop star illustrations from me, but today’s post is a little different. I recently read the book “I Am Malala”, the story of Malala Yousafzai who would not be silenced by the Taliban and stood up for girls’ education. I found her story so inspiring that I felt compelled to paint a picture of her as the smiling, educated and brave girl that she is.
